Head of Sales for a Multinational FMCG Company
Job Summary:
The Head of Sales will be responsible for leading the overall sales strategy, execution, and performance of the company across Bangladesh. The role involves driving revenue growth, expanding market share, strengthening distribution networks, developing high-performing sales teams, and ensuring achievement of business objectives across GT channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Business Growth:
- Develop and implement annual and long-term sales strategies aligned with company objectives
- Drive profitable revenue growth and market share expansion across product categories
- Identify new business opportunities, emerging channels, and market expansion initiatives
- Lead the annual sales planning and budgeting process
Distribution & Route-to-Market:
- Strengthen and optimize the nationwide distribution network
- Ensure effective market coverage and outlet penetration
- Develop strategies to improve numeric and weighted distribution
- Monitor distributor profitability and performance
Sales Operations Excellence:
- Drive sales productivity and execution excellence
- Ensure effective implementation of trade promotions and market activation programs
- Monitor sales KPIs, including:
- Sales Value & Volume
- Market Share
- Distribution Billing efficiency
- Outlet Productivity
- Primary Sales
- Secondary Sales
- Collection Efficiency
Team Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop regional and national sales teams
- Build a high-performance culture with strong accountability
- Design succession plans and talent development initiatives
- Conduct regular performance reviews and capability-building programs
Commercial Management:
- Manage sales budgets, trade investments, and promotional expenditures
- Ensure profitable growth through effective pricing and trade terms management
- Collaborate with Finance to improve receivables management and working capital efficiency
- Work closely with Marketing to ensure the successful execution of brand and category plans
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain product availability and inventory optimization
- Partner with Finance, HR, and Operations to achieve organizational goals
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline; candidates with an MBA will be given preference
- Minimum 12 – 18 years of experience in FMCG sales, at least 5 years’ experience in a senior sales leadership role
Salary:
- BDT 250,000 – 300,000/ (based on experience)
