Job Objective:

The Chief Financial Officer is the principal financial steward, a strategic partner to the Chairman, the Board of Directors and the CEO. The CFO holds end-to-end ownership of the financial integrity, transparency and discipline of the business-spanning accounting, financial reporting and IFRS compliance, treasury and banking, costing and margin management, working capital, risk, internal controls, taxation, ERP-driven financial systems, and investor returns.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accountability, Reporting & Governance:

  • Own the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting to the Board, CEO, investors and regulators – with a fixed monthly, quarterly and annual reporting calendar that is never missed
  • Establish the principle that all material financial events – including air-freight costs, customer discounts and chargebacks, claims, write-offs and margin erosion – are surfaced to the Board proactively through the finance function and never via customers or external parties
  • Design and enforce a company-wide accountability framework that assigns clear financial ownership of cost, margin and variance to each function (Merchandising, Planning, Production, Design, Commercial, Marketing)
  • Implement and maintain a formal Table of Authority and an approval / payment-control system covering all modes of payment, with no loopholes across any ERP module
  • Ensure both pre-costing and post-costing financial statements are produced, reconciled and reviewed, so committed margin and realized margin are always visible and explained

Accounting, IFRS Compliance & Statutory Reporting:

  • Supervise all accounting operations and ensure financial statements are prepared in full accordance with IFRS / IAS and applicable Bangladesh statutory requirements
  • Close the existing gaps in reporting standards and bring the company’s accounting policies, disclosures and reconciliations up to current IFRS standards
  • Oversee internal and external audits, drive remediation of every finding, and target zero major non-compliance observations
  • Ensure full compliance with local and international tax law, VAT, bond/customs, transfer pricing and corporate governance obligations
  • Maintain robust month-end and year-end close discipline with documented reconciliations for all control accounts

Treasury, Banking & Cash Flow Management:

  • Take complete ownership of treasury and all banking relationships – working capital, LC/back-to-back, packing credit, term loans and lease facilities – in both office and factory
  • Own rolling cash-flow and fund-flow forecasting; guarantee sufficient liquidity for payroll, supplier payments, statutory dues and capex without crisis funding
  • Minimize outstanding export proceeds and payment-term exposure; accelerate realization and reduce the cash conversion cycle
  • Manage FX and interest-rate exposure with a defined hedging and risk policy; protect margin from currency and rate volatility
  • Continuously reduce the cost of capital and optimize the debt structure; ensure covenant compliance and strong, transparent lender relationships
  • Hold sole accountability for the accuracy and authorization of all bank dealings, facility utilization and banking documentation

Investor Returns & Capital Structure:

  • Convert reported profit into realized, distributable returns; plan and deliver dividends and financing returns to the Board and shareholders
  • Maintain a healthy, deliberate balance between reinvestment for growth and distribution to investors
  • Lead financial due diligence, structuring and sensitivity analysis for new business, the backward-linkage projects and global expansion initiatives
  • Optimize the capital structure and debt-to-equity ratio within industry norms; secure financing on favorable terms to fund expansion
  • Define and report ROI / payback for all major capital expenditure against a Board-approved minimum return threshold

Costing, Margin & Profitability Management:

  • Own order costing and ensure every order is quoted and accepted at the best achievable contribution margin, machine earnings, and profit
  • Track and defend contribution per standard minute / Earning Per Minute (EPM) against cost per minute, by buyer, style and module
  • Systematically measure and reduce margin erosion – scrap and write-offs, lost margin from downtime, discounts, claims and air freight – as a percentage of contribution
  • Analyze product, buyer and module profitability and feed pricing, capacity-allocation and order-acceptance decisions
  • Report cost-saving initiatives and their realized value to the CEO and Board on a defined cadence

Financial Planning, Analysis & Decision Support:

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning aligned to the company’s growth roadmap
  • Build and maintain real-time financial dashboards covering CM, profit, costing, receivable ageing, inventory, discount/air freight, overheads, procurement, wastage and commissions
  • Provide the CEO and Board with sensitivity and scenario analysis to support major business decisions
  • Monitor key financial metrics – revenue / CM growth, profitability, cash flow and debt servicing – and flag deviations early

Cost Control & Operational Efficiency:

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing, local procurement, overheads, utilities, rentals, maintenance, consumption and sourcing
  • Challenge operational budgets, capital expenditure and overhead as a percentage of revenue
  • Partner with Production and Planning to translate efficiency, OTT and OTD performance into financial outcomes

Internal Controls, Risk & Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce a comprehensive internal-control framework and financial risk management policy
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors and regulators across the office and factory
  • Ensure adequate insurance, contingency and business-continuity planning to safeguard company assets
  • Lead an independent internal audit function with a direct reporting line to the CFO and visibility to the Board

ERP, Systems & Data Integrity:

  • Lead the financial implementation, optimization and maintenance of the ERP (Federator) and all related finance modules, ensuring no control loopholes
  • Ensure finance, costing, inventory and treasury data in the ERP is the single trusted source for all financial reporting
  • Drive automation of recurring financial and MIS reporting to replace manual compilation. 3.10 Inventory, Fixed Assets & Working Capital
  • Hold strong accountability for general and raw-material inventory and the fixed-asset register, including valuation and physical verification
  • Optimize inventory turnover and reduce inventory holding and payable/receivable days to release working capital

Team Leadership & Capability Building:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance organization with clear roles and accountability
  • Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement that extends beyond finance into the wider business
  • Develop succession plans and career paths for key finance personnel
